My Take on Into the Fire:
I watch a lot of true crime. You probably do, too. It seems that the entertainment industry has gone into hyper-drive and is pumping out some truly lackluster efforts recently because they know people are going to watch. Luckily, Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter is one of the very good documentaries.
A teenager goes missing in 1989. She has two names (I’ll use Aundria here) in the doc as she was given up for adoption as a baby. The main person searching for answers is her biological mother who never really knew her. Anything beyond those main facts starts to tiptoe into spoiler territory.
To avoid the aforementioned spoilers, I will just say this. The whole thing is well done, and the story has a LOT of twists. You may guess a few things early on and think you have it all solved. While that is partially true, there is still a lot more to unpack. This documentary has enough material for all three episodes, and it’s well paced. Trust me, it’s worth your time.
