My Take on American Nightmare:

This true crime documentary is going to give you all of the feels. I was confused, scared, angry, confused again, a little happy, then really mad again. So clearly, this was really done.

Here is the setup. A man calls to report his girlfriend has been abducted. Turns out this happened quite a few hours before. His story sounds implausible. There are reasons he might want her gone. Clearly, he killed her. Case closed.

Wait, then the girlfriend just shows up. No, he didn’t kill her. Then what the hell happened? Clearly, this was all a fraud, and these two people are sociopaths.

Wait, then… well, I won’t spoil that. The tagline on Netflix gives all of what I mentioned away so no I didn’t spoil it already. In fact, if you remember this case (it happened right when Gone Girl was out, amazingly) then there is still so much here to learn.

And don’t worry. There is a hero in this thing and you won’t see her coming.

Verdict:

A great documentary with lots of twists and a lot to be angry about. Watch it here!
