Brendan’s Alternate Tagline for Bad Influence:
Despite all my rage there are still a bunch of kids being exploited on YouTube.

Fact for History Nerds:
This is the most rage filled review I have ever done.
My Take on Bad Influence:
Oh, I just want to rant so bad. Fine, I’ll do the review first.
Band Influence on Netflix looks at kidfluencing which is when bad parents use their kids for clicks. No, I don’t mean you putting up a picture of Stacy so her aunts and uncles can like the post. I mean turning kids into content machines who are basically child labor. This documentary specifically targets Piper Rockelle, and the monstrous clique created around her by her mother. Do yourself a favor. Don’t google her. It’s gotten gross. The documentary explains how.
The doc gets a bunch of kids who used to be part of Rockelle’s videos but got booted out. The social dynamics are fascinating, and some very uncomfortable questions are asked. Can I rant now?
Yes, Rockelle’s mother is the villain. But guess who the other villains are (who swear they are not)? The parents of the kids in these videos! With one exception, these parents are all over this thing complaining about how their children were treated. YOU PUT THEM THERE YOU IDIOTS! IT IS YOUR JOB TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN! I was yelling at the TV how these people were taking no accountability for the fact that they saw nothing wrong until the money stopped. I’m getting angry all over again as I type this! I need to take a walk. Go watch this so you can be as angry as I am.
Verdict:
An enraging but good watch. Watch it here!
